Today's
Questions
Hello again in this part of Hotline,
made by Ben! Since the latest issue
I've seen many statistics in other
mags. Yes, I should say, statistics
become very popular. I think the
first mag, with that kind of content
was RAW about half year ago. After a
while we decided to make SH in
English, we started to think about new
ideas to improve our mag. I found out
Hotline and as a part of it, Today's
Questions, BUT it wasn't the copy of
RAW's questions. I wanted to make
statistics simply with YES-NO sistem,
like in Most Wanted. Today there are
many kind of statistics in many mags
and there are many kind of questions.
And this is the key-word: questions
must be interesting and not too many,
because than it becames boring. Well,
I think we try our best!
The questions:
. Is it lame to use your own language
in a production?
. Are packs important for the scene?
Results:
. 72% YES 28% NO
. 94% YES 6% NO
That means that most of you prefere
use and see the international lenguage
(English) in the releases. I think
it's logic, because nearly every
amiga-owner can speak a kind of
English.
About packs I wasn't very surprised.
Nearly everybody voted for packs, but
in fact most of the voters were
swappers, so pack-makers and recivers.
Answers:
Now let's see some famous answers to
the same questios:

Is it lame to use your own language in
a production?
If you don't want anybody to read the
text, then it's OK.
If you live in England, then it's OK,
too.
Do you know the Demo "Lassies Venner"?
it is a high-quality gag production.
It was released at the Prologic/
Static Bytes conference in Denmark,
and when it was shown, everybody
laughed till death. It was great, the
gags must have been fantastic.
Everybody laughed, expect five poor
germans (Panther, Cthulhu, Vindicator,
Zaphod and Chaos), who didn't
understand anything beacause the demo
was 100% danish.
It's your decision what language you
use, but you must know that your
production will stay pretty unknown if
you write all text in japanese.
Are packs important for the scene?
Packs are important for swappers, and
swappers are important for the scene.

st: own language?
Yes, but only if it's fast and
comfortable! Just look at Virtual
World by TomSoft - they used a own
language to controll the vector stuff.
nd: packs?
Yes, but there are to much of them! A
central collection point for all the
oneparter's, intros and single prods.
would be a great thing. I think 5-10
packs are really enough for our scene!

Is it lame to use your own language in
a production?
It is okay, if you use your own
lenguage for a short message or like
this, but it's surely lame, if the
hole demo is in foraign lenguage.
Are packs important for the scene?
Not at all! Packs are forbidden to
upload to my board, Wasted Time.
That's all about this. Check aut the
new questions and try to support us!
Bye: @IPben
